Some people have called Peter "The People's DJ", presumably for demeanor behind the decks and his life-affirming selections. An electric bass and guitar player for over 15 years Peter's musicianship has been delivered more recently behind the 1's and 2's at parties, clubs, bars, dancehalls, and happy hours. His studio time has been on the rise as well, with releases on his own labels as well as across the pond on France's In Any Case and England's On The Corner.
He founded and operates the vinyl-focused Rocksteady Disco record label, which he describes as "a boutique and independent record label and party founded in 2014 in Detroit, Michigan by Peter Croce." Inspired by legendary global soundsystems of yesteryear, the label boasts an eclectic yet cohesive catalog of music inspired by parties from Detroit to London, New York to Nigeria, Jamaica to Chicago, and Tokyo to Brazil. He maintains a role as label manager for MotorCity Wine Recordings as well.
Peter prefers spinning vinyl through high-end analog mixers, but claims he would be happy to make people dance by mixing cassette tapes if that's all that was available. You'll be sure to see how this attitude shines through at your next event.
"I am a DJ and talent booker in the Metro Detroit Area, specializing in corporate and high-end hospitality events. I’ve booked Peter many times over the past few years for a variety of clients and occasions. Peter always does a fantastic job. He always rocks the party, and brings an extremely high level of professionalism and music acumen to any gig he does. Speaking as a fellow DJ, Peter is a consummate professional, always going above and beyond to make my clients happy. Musically, Peter brings something different to the table. His vast knowledge of music really separates him from the pack. This is not your “cookie cutter” DJ. I highly recommend Peter to anyone who’s looking to add a “cool factor” to their event."
