We won two major industry awards for our filmmaking!

The Telly Awards are fiercely competitive, especially in the non-profit category. We go up against big studios and advertising firms. This was a record breaking year with nearly 13,000 entries from across the globe and top video and television content producers such as Airbnb, Audible, BET Networks/BET Digital, BritBox, Disney, FEMA, Gaumont, Golden State Warriors, MediaMonks, NASA, National Geographic Society, Netflix, Paramount, PBS Digital Studios and more.

Fig media received two Silver Telly Awards for our work in non-profit documentary video story telling. High praise for a small crew of 6 to go up against large studios and walk away with a Silver. We are proud of the work we do and happy to bring our clients with us as we break barriers, challenge systems and tell the human to human stories that make connection possible.

Change The Map

Using 36 years of data on lending practices in Chicago to expose racial injustice, Change The Map highlights the work of Woodstock Institute. Tackling discriminatory lending practices in Chicago that contribute to poverty concentration, fig and Woodstock sought to shake up the systems that keep communities of color trapped in the poverty cycle. Change The Map is co-written with the advocates at Woodstock and narrated by Audra Wilson from The Shriver Center. Using drone footage and collected images in Chicago to visually demonstrate disparity and graphics of the map of disinvestment, Change The Map shook up current bankers and real estate lenders - we have the data, we are watching and we will hold you accountable.

Silver Telly Award Winner in National Non-Profit filmmaking category.

Come Through The Door Ready

Settlement Houses in Chicago have a long history of serving communities and filling gaps where society falls short. Association House has served Chicago since 1911 and has partnered with our team to tell community stories. Come Through The Door Ready centers around Jose and his family. Jose utilizes the programs for those living with learning disabilities. This bi-lingual film is co-written with the family it features as a way to ensure we as a filmmaking team are thoughtfully including communities in the work we create to combat stereotypes and create connection with those who hold privilege in our society without exploiting those living under the oppressive systems we live in. These trauma informed practices are critical to our non-profit video work not just as citizens of this city but as humans seeking to create better.
