Marcus Prince

Marcus Prince, known as DJ Such N Such, is a multifaceted musician from the south side of Chicago, hailing from the Englewood community. Over the years, Marcus has taken residency between Chicago and Washington, D.C., while establishing himself as a producer, trumpet player, DJ, engineer, and teacher in his field. At an early age, Marcus began his career as a producer and would go on to utilize the skills he learned in studio settings to branch into other avenues of music. This curiosity bled into high school where Marcus began to take up DJing after his appreciation for crate digging and joined a music collective known as SaveMoney. At the same time, he began to explore traditional music settings by playing trumpet in his high school band. By the age of 18, Marcus had already been resident DJ/producer for Chance the Rapper and other members of the SaveMoney crew for two years while claiming production placements with other artists, such as Saba, Mick Jenkins, and many more. After interning in studios in New York, Los Angeles, and Scratch DJ Academy, Marcus is finishing his formal training in music education at Howard University and plans to take a full residency as a teaching musician in Chicago. Marcus is now a member of the Fig Media team and is excited to bring his talent and heart and skill to weddings and events.

Although George and I were not looking for media companies towards the beginning of our planning, one of my friends referred Fig Media among a few other media companies for us to contact. She recommended us to hire a media company to help us with the flow of, not only music, but the overall transition of the whole wedding. I reached out to a few on the list and Brent from Fig Media was the first person we spoke to. We IMMEDIATELY connected and we knew we wanted to move forward with Fig Media based on the chemistry of our conversation. Despite the fact that we just met virtually due to COVID, talking to Brent was like talking to a friend we've known for ages. Our conversations were very fun and Brent went over everything step by step. Once we started discussing music selections for the wedding, Brent and Marcus knew exactly what type of vibes we wanted for the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception. We gave Marcus free reign on music during cocktail hour and the reception as long as it fit the different vibes we were looking for and Marcus was 100% ON POINT with all the music. Our guests kept talking to us about how different and fun the music was at our wedding and I honestly can't imagine the day being so fun and going so smoothly without Brent and Marcus! I highly recommend Fig Media for any type of event you are hosting that needs a DJ! They're so chill to work and I wish we could re-live that day because it was so much fun!
