FIG MEDIA // 2X WINNERS IN THE 36th ANNUAL TELLY AWARDS

The Telly Awards has named Fig Media as a 2X winner in the 36th Annual Telly Awards. The first Telly award is for our non profit film "Revolution in My Backyard" and the second Telly Award is for our corporate film for "Air France". With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor!

We are proud of our 7 Telly Awards achieved to date.

““The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video. Fig Media’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.””

— Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards

Revolution in my Backyard, a Non-Profit Fundraising film produced for The Shriver Center, screened to a packed audience at the annual fundraising dinner for the Shriver Center. It has since been used to spearhead the messaging for the year. We partnered with local youth poetry coalition Young Chicago Authors group to commission a poet, Jasmine Barber. Our director Melissa Fox worked with Jasmine to both write and perform a piece inspired by the work that the Shriver Center does in the community using both historical and current events. This win marks the fourth Telly Award win for the team. PRODUCERJAMES GUSTIN + MEGAN TAYLORWRITER + DIRECTOR + CINEMATOGRAPHER + EDITORMELISSA FOX

Air France, spearheaded by fig director Joseph Martinez, was created for a campaign that asked filmmakers to produce a marketing film that captures the spirit of the airline. The assignment was to create a story that involved the following elements: dreaming, traveling, and inspiring. This film has a savy budget and creative use of location making it one of the most cost effective commercials for one of our clients. Did we fly to France? No. But we bet you can't tell the difference. After developing three different scripts, Joseph Martinez and Bashir Said put together a compelling story about a pair of singles who meet each other while flying home from Europe.  Shot in Chicago and Rockford, the final piece gives a fun and energetic depiction of singles in Europe who finally find connection in the cabin of an Air France airplane. This marks Joe's first telly award win with the fig media team.

We look forward to creating more award winning work for our clients next year!

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.  Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents.  The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other – rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit.  Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Silver Telly, our highest honor.  Approximately 25% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Bronze Telly.
